Useful Tips
What Our Customers Say
Water Saving Tips:
   - Water is a precious commodity and should be used wisely:
-Do not boil more water than required for a cup of tea?
If you need a cup of tea, boil the equivalent of 2 cups.
If you need 2 cups, boil 3 cups etc.  This is so that there is always some water left at the bottom of the kettle.  Limescale deposits will be found at the bottom of your kettle.  If drank, it may cause a stomach upset. So dont pour all the contents of the kettle into your tea/coffee cup.
-Always allow approximately 15 seconds (after boiling a kettle of water) before pouring into a cup.  This enables limescale particles to settle at bottom of kettle.
-When having a shower, turn off the shower (while applying soap/suds) to avoid wastage.  Turn back on when you are ready to rinse down your body.

Stop Tap Location:
-Every home owner should make an effort to know where thier stop valve (internal) is located.  This  can reduce the amount of damage that can be caused by leaking pipes or faulty appliances as the water supply will just be turned off at the stop valve.  Stop valves are usually located in the following places:
               Under the kitchen sink
               Under the stairway
               In a cupboard by hallway
-Always operate (turn it clockwise, then anti clockwise) your stop valve at least once a year.  This will prevent it from seizing in the open position.

Service/Issolation Valves:
-When appliances are being replaced and their supply pipes are not fitted with service/issolation valves, advice the attending 'operative, technician or engineer' to fit one.  This is not always a requirement (except for float operated valves), but is good practice.  In the event of a fault, only the faulty appliance will be issolated, not the whole installation or house.
